History of the Alpha Eta Chapter
The Theta Xi Fraternity is the most active fraternity on the CU campus; not only embracing the traditional social, academic, and philanthropic aspects of Greek life, but also taking advantage of the unique opportunities Boulder and the American West have to offer through outdoor and sport activities. Since the founding of the Alpha Eta chapter at the University of Colorado in 1929, more than 800 men have passed through Theta Xi; allowing them to receive more than just a degree from their college experience. These same men have gone on to become prominent leaders globally as brothers and alumni. Whether it's through athletics, business, politics, or scholarship, Theta Xi develops leadership and nobility among its members. This chapter is full of opportunities for one to pursue, and the brothers continuously strive for personal excellence.
Theta Xi is a group of young men who work together to accomplish goals while assisting one another on their path to manhood. Theta Xi members push one another to strive for their best in all aspects of collegiate life through the principles of BALANCE: Brotherhood, Academics, Leadership, Adventure, Nobility, Community, and Extreme Sports.
The Alpha Eta Chapter of the Theta Xi Fraternity firmly believes that adventure and organized sports help form stronger bonds of brotherhood. The chapter is very involved in a variety of intramurals, which promotes synergy among participants. The adventure sports aspect promotes moving beyond one's limits. Whether it's climbing a sheer cliff face in Rocky Mountain National Park, mountain biking the last mile of a trail in Moab, Utah, or relaxing on a houseboat on Lake Powell, Theta Xi helps its members experience the beauty of the outdoors and excel through difficult situations.
Theta Xi works hand-in-hand with the National Headquarters to organize philanthropic events with both the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. This chapter is very proud to give back to the community and help those who are less-fortunate.
The Theta Xi Fraternity is looking for balanced men who are willing to expand their views of the world through bonding with others.
